Rebecca Upton (b. 1993) is a 24 year old writer from New Hampshire. She is majoring in Communications, but she has also studied Writing and Women’s and Gender Studies. She has taken courses in poetry, short fiction, flash fiction, prose poetry, and creative nonfiction. Her favorite genre is creative nonfiction because she believes essays with personal elements can create a special bond between the writer and the reader. She values honesty, vulnerability, and self-awareness in writing. She writes a lot about mental illness and trauma, which has been cathartic for her. As a Communications student, she is particularly interested in the ways that the internet has influenced writers and the work they produce. You can find more of her writing at crackedmoth.tumblr.com.
